The raider armor cannot accept material mods or more than one improvement in defensive capability, but has access to two unique modifications. The torso section is the most interesting, since it is the only power armor torso that only requires steel for repairs. Primarily, it is used by raider bosses to make one think twice before assaulting a raider outpost. Raider power armor is mostly a curiosity and personal choice, given that the player will have access to much better power armor within the first few hours, though it may have its uses. Raiders are already known for their crude armors, but across the Commonwealth, some of the fiercest raider leaders have scavenged old suits of power armor and restored them to full working order, for intended use over a functional power armor frame.
